Dip A Day December for PTSD UK

December is definitely here and with it the frosts and freezing temperatures.

What better time of year to do a cold water challenge?!

And that’s exactly what I’m doing. I am taking part in the Dip a Day December cold water challenge and raising money for the UK based charity PTSD UK.

What does a Dip a Day December challenge entail?

Well, every day throughout December I will be ‘dipping’ in cold water. They have deliberately left it open for us to decide what constitutes ‘a dip’ so it’s as accessible as possible. I have opted for a cold blast in the shower. This is because I have easy access to a shower unlike to other sources of cold water. I did consider setting up a kids paddling pool for my dips but it would take up a lot of space outside without being deep enough for me to get a proper soaking!

I video myself in the cold water and share them online with a bit of information each day about PTSD, CPTSD and PTSD UK.

Why are you raising money for PTSD UK?

Because they are a great resource for those affected by PTSD or CPTSD, including friends and family. When an estimated 70% of people in the UK living with PTSD or CPTSD are not getting professional support, it’s a very worthwhile charity. Check out their website here for more info about what they do - www.ptsduk.org
